Aptitude test/ subject-specific admission requirements

In addition to your formal application, most master programmes require you to meet subject-specific admission requirements. These need to be verified by the institute providing the master programme by way of an official document. For details on subject-specific admission requirements please check the website of the institute providing the master programme or the Studienbüro website of the respective faculty.

In some cases, you have to pass an aptitude test. Please note that you must register for the aptitude test within the application deadlines. These deadlines may end up to three months prior to the deadlines set for uni-assist e.V. applications. For details on your master programme's aptitude test/ subject-specific admission requirements, please contact the respective Studienbüro.

Some institutes decide immediately after checking the documentation if the candidate is suitable. Other institutes carry out additional examinations, e.g. written tests or selection interviews.

If you meet the formal requirements and are selected as being suitable (including passing an aptitude test), and provided there is still space in the programme, you can be admitted to study at Leipzig University. In the case of NCU (admission-restricted) subjects, known as numerus clausus subjects, your marks from your previous degree will be used to decide whether you are admitted.
